Tire pressure sensor..Shelf life?
One of my Tire pressure sensors is starting to act up on my 2003 Coupe, and before purchasing a new one, I was wondering if new sensors have an "Acceptable shelf life"? In other words, if a sensor has been sitting on a shelf for two years, but is new and has never been programmed, when it is installed and programmed, will the usable battery life be shortened by two years? It's my understanding the sensors are activated by wheel movement to save power. So, if the sensors are not in use, does the battery drain anyway?

We sell a couple of hundred sensors per month, so we always have fresh sensors. There is a little indicator (manual) that shows you when they were manufactured so you can check for yourself when you get them.
