Has anyone had any experience with Twin Projector Fixed Headlights on a C5 Vette?
I am interested in comments regarding : Do you think the installation would detract fron the resale value of the vehicle? Is the illumination comparable to the original Pop-Ups? How much do you have to spend? any recomendations!!
The Radio Flyer kit doesnt alter the car (you can put it back to stock), dont know about the others (but probably also easy to go back to stock).
Nope, any of the projector kits will provide three times the illumination of the stock pop ups (1000 v 3000 lumens).
Well theres the rub :-) somewhere between $300 (depos? can you get them for $300 ?) and $1200.
There are other alternatives for keeping the pop ups also. Silverstar Ultras (halogen bulb in oem housing) $20 each, HID kit in stock housing 100$, ACA type housings with HID bulbs 300 - 600$, or redesigned housings with HID bulbs around $750.
Dont quote me on the cost, but its close to what I put.
Just do a search on HID C5 here on the forum, you will have enough reading to satisfy you for a few days.

Any non-pop up light kit is going to take a tremendous amount of work and time to fit to your car.
Gotta disagree with that one.
The Stealth Light Cannons take (on average) 1-2 hours to install and aim. Going back to stock takes even less time.
LONG range main beams
Beam pattern at ~50'
The SLCs feature:
- (4) Hella 60mm projectors
- heavy duty reinforced aluminum mounting frame (mounts directly to the frame and wheel well for maximum stability)
- Unique Stainless Steel "locking" adjusters
- Impact resistant UV-treated main lens
- 55w HID low beams (your color choice of 4300, 5000, 6000 or 8000K)
- Halogen high beams
- Hi-4 harness that allows your low beams to remain on with your high beams for increased visibility.
I recently closed a GP but I ordered one extra kit. If you're interested email me at: radioflyer97@gmail.com
Besides your kit the rest of the kits out there are a biotch to install.
You install time would not be nearly as quick, depending on what options you have on your car. Somebody with a turbo or SC, or a car set up for the track with lost odf ductwork in the front makes the job way longer.
Just got done doing some Specter Werkes C5R headlight and they were a biotch.

The SW kit is a bit of a challange. Mostly because you can't measure for adjustments until the whole piece is assembled and mounted. I had one a while back. I will say it's a good product for function and durability. The lexan lenses are very durable and easily painted:

how much would it be for a set of those??? Love them so just getting a price
Yeah, we just installed the ones like you. Unfortunately it took a couple of days to do because the fit was so bad. We had to heat up the buckets and remold them to fit along the back inner fender well plus rework the mounting holes and brackets.
Then reshape the lenses. I like the look of the the C5R lights but they are not for the faint of heart.

From: LA/OC border, probably sittin' under the patio, by the pool...smokin' a cigar! SoCal
I just installed the Depo's this weekend. On a budget. I did my research first though. Read opinon's of other's here. A purist would not like the look of the Depo's. Even with mods to the stock flip-ups....there still flip-up's, and at night, the flip-up's look out of place. With my Depo's, some would say they look like frog eyes, but the factory flip-up's look like giant frog eyes! But, it's factory, and has heritage. I always liked the look of the C5R with the fixed headlights, but not at that cost. I only drive my C5 on weekends, or vaction, not a DD. To each his own. Now where did I put my flame suit?!
I've often wondered if there could be a compormiese between the daytime look of the pop up headlight vs, the function and evil look of fixed headlight.
2 solutions, both possible but outragously expensive to produce:
a) Reetractable headlight cover: Would cover the main lens during the day and retract at night. Similar in design to the original Jaguar XJ220 headlights (where the headlight covers retract towards the centerline as seen in this video at 2:11) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGuSVNOMQfs
b) Eleectrochromatic glass lensees on fixed headlights. an electric current can either blackout the glass or make it transparent. Very cool, but very expensive and fragile.

Whether or not it's accurate, I consider it a moot point. Unless you're doing laps on a track at night, it makes absolutely no practical difference whatsoever.
As for me, when I want fixed headlamps, I'll by a C6.
