I am installing a new set of Red Adjure rear sidemarkers and upgrading the bulbs to LED.
I started with the drivers side. Easy enough, I removed the far outside rear tail light and reached in to unscrew and replace.
OK, moving over to the passenger side and I realize that the power antenna motor/housing, etc. is in the way. Now before I go and remove it, does anyone know of a better way? I'm hoping there is a secondary way to access the side marker.
The outboard light removal is the best way, but you can access it from around the muffler can. It is going to scrape you up something awful, but it can be done.
You can also remove the nuts from the muffler bracket on the rear bumper bar for more room to maneuver. If you do this, be CAREFUL not to push the studs into the bumper......no way to retrieve once gone. I got VERY lucky and got mine back with a small retractable magnet used to retrieve dropped bolts.
Remove outboard taillight and access it through there.
That's how I am trying to access the side marker, however the antenna motor mount is in the way, unlike the driver's side. I was hoping I would not have to remove the antenna mount, however that might be the only way. I checked the trunk and there is no access behind the carpet/side molding. I was hoping I was just missing a simple way to access the marker, however I might need to completely remove the antenna housing and hopefully just have to move it to the side.
This "easy" project to install the LED Halos/side markers has been a little more tricky than anticipated. First I had to reverse engineer the Euro harness from underneath, now the side marker challenge.

Yup - it's a P.I.T.A. but it's really the only way unless you drop the exhaust system unless you're either of these guys.....

Should be able to remove 2 (I think) nuts and move it gently out of the way. You will need band aids.
Don't know how the new ones mount but if they use the plastic posts and sheet metal nuts make sure you do not over tighten them. The posts snap off very easily.

Thanks, that's what I think I need to do. On the first one (driver's side), I made sure to pre-thread the plastic posts. That made it a little easier to install.

That would be one way of trying it - I would think with the wheel liner out of the way, you would have access to the sidemarker light. Could be wrong though since I do not have a vert and can go in through the outside taillight.
A final note on this project. I did swap out the passenger rear side marker today by jacking the car and removing the passenger rear wheel. I then removed the two lower screws that secure the wheel well liner. Once removed, I was able to bend back the liner and squeeze my arm up and remove the side marker and replace the bulb with and LED.
With the exception of removing the wheel, this was a lot easier than going through the rear tail light socket as I did on the driver's side. It was a lot easier working the wrench to remove the fasteners, etc. as I had a lot more leverage.
FYI for anyone who owns a vert and is considering the same mod.
