Looking at a car on ebay and saw this silver gas cap thing.... Not my style at all ... Wondering can these be removed without damage to the paint ? How are they typically attached?

Gosh I hope so! Yeesh! Someone help this man out!!!
I believe there are three easy to access screws and the whole cover can be swapped out... So even if it's aftermarket and not sticky tape, you can pick a new one up and swap it out pretty painless, especially on a black car...

I worried about having to paint a door ... or if these were mechanically attached to the original door in some fashion ...

It went on there, it has to be able to come off. Hopefully it is just stuck on - the seller should be able to answer that question. But in any case, taking it off will be a big improvement.
I hope this is not against site rules for listing auctions but I am only doing this for info only and really doubt anyone here would consider buying the 1st one I have listed. The other 2 are just to show the prices for new lids.
they are on the auction site.

These are not my auctions and I have nothing to do with them other than remembering seeing them when I was searching for a switch to open mine from inside when mine broke a couple weeks ago.
Looks like you already have some answers for the gas cap.
I noticed something else about the car- it could just be me, but it the rear wheel appears to look like a stock wheel, but the front wheel does not. The front one looks like a knock-off of the stock wheel (the spokes appear thicker than OEM). Certainly is peculiar... I would want to know the story behind that if I were purchasing the car.
