Last battery in my 04 Z06 was an Optima Red 75/25.

I bought it because I thought it was the best. I now believe that Odyssey makes a superior battery. Odyssey is sold in Sears as Diehard Platinum - same battery different color, lower price.

The Odyssey is heavier, but has more reserve capacity, and other advantages which can be researched (shelf life, service live, case construction, warranty, etc...). I like it because it is solid, powerful, and rugged - the extra 10-15 pounds is a compromise for increased reliability.

I imagine you want the best battery in your Z06, if you're going to spend money - do it right the first time.
Heads Up- Sears has an Employee Pricing Event Savings until 4/10/10
You can order the Diehard Platinum online and pick it up @ Sears-
With $5 off of $50 and the 10% my total came to $166.49
All this was automatically done when I ordered the battery

Hello, I noticed your conversation and wanted to offer some assistance for some questions that may not have been answered and some misinformation that has been presented. If your vehicle is relatively-stock, a RedTop will work just fine. If you have significant aftermarket accessories, like a car alarm or large stereo, a YellowTop is recommended.

Although no manufacturer releases exact sales numbers, it’s safe to say no one sells more AGM batteries than we do and it’s not even close. As a result, there are likely to be far more conversations about our batteries than all other AGM brands combined. Although some batteries are being made in China, Optima batteries are not and never have been. Optima batteries are the only batteries we make and they are never re-spec’d or re-branded for any retailer.

Most of the “bad” batteries returned to us now are just deeply-discharged and work fine, when properly-recharged. This video explains how to properly recharge a deeply-discharged Optima- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIoaL3DWWEg

Whatever battery you choose, a battery tender or maintainer is an excellent investment which will help extend the life of your battery, regardless of brand. If you have any other battery-related questions, I’ll do my best to answer them.
