Default Tire information

Our new '00 has Firestone Firestone SZ 50 EP RF tires with about 50% tread remaining, that seem fine...we had horrible experiences with run flat tires on our Lexus SC 30 cars..are these good tires? I can't believe how good the ride and cornering, and low "noise" level these tires have...compared to the Lexus...Bob

Glad you have good experiences with your Firestone SZ runflats.
I have the original Goodyear runcraps with 24k miles and I have always disliked them in every way...Getting ready to try some Toyo Proxe T1Rs(non-runflats)...we shall see how they are in the near future...
Heres what I am getting...

I ran a set of the Firestone runflats on my '00 for a few years and absolutely loved them. Better handling, less road noise - those tires outperformed the Goodyears by a mile. When I need to replace my current runflats, I will most likely get a set of the Firestones if I go with runflats again.

I think if the tires are quiet and handle well, what more can you ask for?

As tires go, it's gonna be hard to beat Michelin PS2's overall, however they are EXPENSIVE.

I went with Firestone Wide Ovals (non run-flat) and really like them. Grip is great with very little noise compared to the GY OEM. I recommend.
