Default Longevity

Hi, I bought my vert with 70000miles on it, It has been maintained well and I am keeping it up. There is always a question on the back of my mind that keeps bothering me, how long will it last before I have to spend a lot of money on major repairs? given that a car is maintained as scheduled what is a general longevity of a c5 corvette?
I know some engines are built to last over 200000 miles while others do not last even half that time. Corvettes are top of the line cars and that tells me that they should be very reliable.
how many miles do you have on your c5, what problems have you had?
what will I be able to sell it for in 2-3 years(lets say with 140-150 miles on it) when I decide to get a c6?
Thank you in advance for your opinions.

If it has been maintained properly, not raced, and you continue to maintain the car properly you should be able to see 150,000 miles without too many issues. Many people on the forum have well over 100,000 miles on their cars an have had relatively few problems.

I've got over 92K on mine, which is my daily driver, and no problems here. I have suspicions that a previous owner may have done some racing as it's getting difficult to get it into some of the gears but in terms of longevity, I'm confident it's going to be around for a long time.

All cars nowadays are just little electronic ticking time bombs that can explode at anytime all over your bank account!

I have 81k miles on mine and just added a cam, timing gears, springs, pushrods & an underdrve pulley. The ol' girl put down 411hp on the dyno and runs strong. I have had only the steering wheel position sensor fail on mine. Everything else I have done to the car was elective. Stop worrying about the miles, maintain it & drive it!

As long as you understand that nothing lasts forever, therefore eventually, things will wear out, you'll be fine. As stated already, its just a matter of how the car was driven and how it was cared for. Driven daily, regular oil changes and normal preventative maintenance, it will go well beyond 200,000 miles. Yes, things will start wearing out so don't be surprised, but if you take care of each as they happen and not let things build up where it becomes cost prohibative....the car will be smiling as much as you will be later on. Remember, as you are taking care of this car, it will be taking care of you.

215,000+ and no major mechanical problems.
I truly believe that the more they are driven the longer and better the run.
I have saw people that only drive them a few miles here and there and they are the ones that always have problems.
the ones that are driven daily seem to be like the energizer bunny, keeps going and going and going
I have put 100,000 of them on it myself in 2 years
keep the oil changed and if it needs something checked out, do not wait, get it done.

I bought my 02 A4 in 2007 with 38,000 miles. It is my daily driver and now has 68,000 miles on it and runs as good as the day I brought it home. I've dealt with the usual things - EBCM went out, an easy fix for $125 bucks from ABSFixer and my HVAC display went dim; fixed for nothing by following forum advice. My oil sender failed and I installed a remote location kit. Other than that Nothing! Nada! most reliable car I've ever owned. Drive it.
