Default Idler or belt?

When I start my 2000 frc, I hear a belt squeal till the engine warms up 15 to 20 minutes later..could this be the belt or is an idler seizing up? ....thanks

did mine last month. thought it was going to be the idler on the ac belt, but wasn't...
if it turns out to be the idler pulley, you would want to get both new gatorback belts on there anyway...

Take one belt off start it up makes it a little easier to find.

Mine always had a squeak in cold weather mornings. But it would always go away after about 10 minutes of driving.

Well about two weeks ago, it wouldn't go away. Took off the main accessory belt. Still there. Took off the AC belt. Gone. I then ordered a new tensioner, idler, and belt and installed it the same week (special order from Autozone). All is well, not a squeak since then, even though it was cold this morning

Exact same thing happened to me.

My idler pulley had visibly slung out all its grease. Got a new one at Advance for $20.

It could be anything thats visibly moving down there...pulley's,tensioners, belts...it has to be isolated to figure out what nees replacing..a trained eye can spot it.

Same deal I had a few years ago...drove me nuts. Goodyear Gatorback belts fixed it all.

i did gators, hit the track and they didnt do so hot. I went back to OEM. the gators tend to be a bit short on the main belt and dont like to go on. When you are there look at the idler and if it looks questionable just change it. Katech is the way to go to replace it, OEM stinks.
