For those that have partitions.... When the partition is installed is it normal for there to be a small gap between the top of the partition and the underside part of the car where it fits. Not sure what that is actually called or if the partition is supposed to fit underneath that plastic piece.
From what I can tell the partition is just designed to more or less back up against the under portion plastic piece? I'm just wondering if these things typically fit close enough that there is no gap anywhere or is it normal for a slight gap? Side to side fits very close I'm questioning the top part.
thats wild, I need to buy one and thought I read where these fit tight and help keep the road noise out back where it belongs...can you guys tell what brand yours are??
I think i may have phrased the question a little weird... i guess what im saying is this - when i put the partition in the actual top of it does not go underneath the plastic part of the car. it backs up against it and kind of flush fits to that (is that normal?) and there is almost a finger sized gap between that. Maybe i just need to mess with it a little more. I was in a hurry...
thanks guys!
Here is mine....there is no gap....but, it does have a rear mat underneath it now. The mat covers the entire rear section of the trunk area.
Actually, there was a slight gap before I put the mat down & the trunk was easier to close with the gap. Now without the gap, I think air pressure builds up making it harder to close the trunk....to solve, I find it easier to close the trunk with a door open....go figure.
Mine has no gap -I made it myself so it would be a press in fit. I did not want any snaps or anything else to hold it in but friction. It fits under the plastic piece that goes from side to side. I also made the storage area for behind the seat.
So it sounds like the one from SCP fits snug, top, bottom and sides? I'm just about ready to order one from SCP but I want a totally snug fit all around. Yet I want to be able to remove it without too much trouble as I clean the inside rear window laying down in the trunk,,,I know, it sounds crazy but I think its easier than trying to reach it from the seats. So am I correct? SCP is snug all around?
I find that I pretty much have to custom fit each one that I fabricate to some degree. Doesn't seem that 'one size fits all'. I leave no gap
If that template still exists out here on the forum, I would recommend getting it, going to Kinkos and printing it full size and working form there. My wifey did that for ours and it fits nice and snug. A little effort to pop it out/in if you need to carry the exhaust in the trunk or something, but well worth it.
Ours is currently 1/4" ply covered both sides in carpet. Most people think it is stock.
I appreciate all the replies guys. I'm going to measure mine compared to the template dieseldave posted. When mine is installed i can touch the top and grab the back of it with my fingers.
