Need Advice On Decission-Confussed

Allright guys, I went to Dallas, Tx this weekend to look at a red C6 Z06 with 45,000 miles on it for $37,000. The car was one owner and in mint condition with a clean Carfax and i reviewed the maintenance records. Test drove the car and i brought it back home to Beaumont, Tx. This car is loaded with everything, nav, memory seating, you name it. It even has one of the clear bra's installed on it already. I was overwhelmed with the power and ride compared to my 2001 C5. One of the only things that i dont like is the shifting is not as smooth as i would like it to be, but i heard there was a change in the shifter in either 07 or 08. I will look into changing it out. Does anyone have any experience in what shifter to go to. Help would be appreciated.

Thanks again guys for all the imput. This C6 ZO6 is awesome and fun to drive. Glad i went the Z way instead of the supercharger on the C5. Now the turmoil of which to drive and which car gets what mods. Not a bad problem to have i guess.
