Default Need Advice On Decission-Confussed

I currently have an A4 2001 C-5 with Vararam intake, Kooks long tube headers with no cats and a B&B catback. I have been Dyno/tuned and am at 335 rwhp. The delima is i have been looking at trading in my C-5 for a used C6 ZO6. But i am considering putting a Procharger on the C-5 and keeping it. I have been told with the Procharger i will outrun a C-6 ZO6. Is this correct, and i would like anyone with a stock C-5 with long tube headers and Procharger to let me know what RWHP they got with the set up.

Ok I have a 2001 C5 non-Z06, and I have a K&N FIPK, long tubes, x-Pipe hi flow cats and a BB exhaust....I was making 335 rwhp as well. I decided to do a VX4 cam from Vengeance Racing and they put a tune in it and I am making 390 rwhp...plus you get a cool sound and some lope with no sacrifice in driveability what so ever. It cost me 1600 for everything including a high volume oil pump and new springs. Much cheaper than a supercharger....however there is nothing like the whine of a SC!!!

You may come close to C6 Z06 horsepower with a Procharger, but they're still two completely different cars. Most of the stock C6 Z06's I've seen dynoed are making around 425-435 rwhp. I've seen them pick up an additional 40-50 rwhp with a custom dyno tune and no mods. I have a supercharged C5 and I've got quite a bit of seat time in C6 Z06's. If I had my choice, I'd go with the C6 Z06. They're phenomenal cars.

How much can you spend? I have a C-5 that has a ZO-6
suspension and a SC plus all the extras I am faster than
a C-6 ZO-6 but I have a $15,000 vette that I spent
$60,000 on. I would buy the C-6 Zo-6 and keep it stock.
Good luck.

I have a C5 with a Novi supercharger and running 498.6 rwhp. It runs like a raped ape but if I had a lot of extra change I would have gone with the C6 Z06 and had it tuned.

Get the used C/6 Z. Then you don't have to worry about , plus Big $ to do so w/ the 335 RWHP C/5 you now have. Plus you'll be driving a much newer & improved car. Good luck.

My car is a 1998 A4 but it has a LS6 now. Pre-Blower I was at 365 rwhp with LG Pro, Honker, Under-drive pulley, B&B Bullets, and tune. Put the blower on and removed the under-drive pulley and honker. Now I have 540 rwhp. I'm willing to do a demo.

I think given the choice you have to make, I would seriously think of going with the C6 Z06 instead of supercharging the C5. But either way you will end up with a beast.

Thanks on the replies, i was surprised to see more replies on buying the used C6 Z06 than supercharging the C-5. I was told i would get a minimum of 525 RWHP and possibly 550 RWHP. That is over a 100 more RWHP than a stock C6 Z06 at the rear wheels. Still hard to decide.

You should be able to get to those numbers. Problem is you have to consider a new clutch, strengthening the driveline, and bigger tires.

The C6Z is already equipped to handle more power with a beefier driveline and bigger tires.

I think it all depends on which car you like better, and most importantly, what it's intended purpose will be for you....

Good luck

Nick

I have a C5 SC Coupe that I know will out run a C6ZO6. Bought it new.

The mods including wheels, heads, cam , Kooks LTs, ZO6 rearend and the Maggie with a new hood, etc cost me another $30K

That said the C6ZO6 would be my hand down choice.

But it's not worth my car and $20K plus to get there.

I guess the Corvette Collective has spoken and it looks like a used C6 Z06 is in my future. Thanks for all of the replies.

For an overall well integrated package that has plenty of performance stock, go with the C6 Z06. They are amazing cars.
