Check out Madvette. He is in Murfreesboro and sells insulation kits for the interior. Maybe he could get you some material to the size you need and put it up there. How is the project coming with the tunnel plates?

Very slowly. We're moving our office this afternoon and tomorrow and the site prep for the new office over the last month has about kicked my bony old @$$ working seven days a week. I may get to take a day off the week of 4/26,
And thanks so much for the project donor tunnel plate. I have the insulating material to put in the tunnel and on the tunnel plate (well, at least I have some material I think I can use). I was hoping someone had info on torque tube to tunnel clearances. The material I plan to use is about 1/2" thick and if there isn't at least another inch clearance to the torque tube I'd be concerned about adhesive coming loose, wrapping on the torque tube and doing some serious damage. It may be better to just do the plate and forget doing the tunnel.
When I replaced my radio bezel/console due to damage awhile back I covered the interior where the console sits with frost king insulation. It's cheap, fits well and seemed to cool the interior somewhat. Not a perfect solution but one that worked for me. $.02
I tried the diy insulating with foil faced ,did the floor. and noticed little differance
then installed a ceramic coated plate, (Elite iirc)
that made a big differance in the heat in the console
