It's the right size. The smaller bottle is NOT enough. When I can only get the smaller bottles I dump two in.
Me too, especially if there's a buy one get one free on the smaller, 12 gallon ones. I like to put one bottle in before I start fueling and another after seven or eight gallons to mix it up.

just started the techron treatments after a road trip proved i may have the float build up issue.....all good so far, use big btls when on empty.
does a national chain do the buy small get small free???? would like to get in on that action.
On a periodic basis,,I just use one of the smaller bottles. ONE,,I'm not having problems,,,and two I use only Top Tier gas that already has system cleaners in it. I figure a regular boost is sufficient,,,,works so far!! Probably just jinxed myself!!:cheer s:
Well normally the higher the octane the better the grade of gas. (seeing as to why we pay more) Shell likes to pride their gasoline with the highest octane content with their "V Power" and its cleaning properties. But the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has made it mandatory that engine-cleaning detergents be added to the fuel so that there will be no build-up of deposits from the natural process of fuel combustion. So the cleaning properties are in all grades of gasoline. Octane ratings are just used to measure a gasoline's ability to resist this engine knock, and keep her clean. This is a rattling or pinging sound that results from the premature ignition of the compressed fuel-air mixture in one or more of the cylinders. The manual I believe suggests higher octane. Good luck with your choice! And add that techron!!!!!!!
IMHO I put 93 in usually from Shell. Yeah you pay the higher buck but I feel its worth it!

I read once that Chevron and Shell are the two major brands of top tier. I ALWAYS use Shell 93 octane in my vette. And add Techron at every oil change.

I always put in 93 octane, but I thought "Top Tier" was something else, like detergent content or minimal Ethanol content or some other mumbo jumbo that only certain brands qualify for.
The closest Shell station is 15 miles away, so I've been using Citgo or Sunoco. I'll have to see if there's a Chevron in town...
My companies business is hauling gas.. Your local Chevron or Shell station may be fortunate enough to have the "top tier" gas if they are close enough to a Chevron or Shell terminal. Dealers, jobbers and suppliers are going to purchase their product from the terminal that is closest to save on freight costs, or the terminal with the best price of the day if it offsets the freight cost. In Michigan most gas comes from a Marathon terminal and I can assure you they are not getting any special additives to make it top tier for a specific brand. Nor is any additive put in at the station itself. In most cases, gas is gas.. Keep putting in the Techron Plus. Nitrogen enriched my foot... It is all advertising baloney.. The law requires every loading terminal to specifically list all ingredients on the bill of lading. Never seen Nitrogen listed anywhere on the hundreds that pass through our office daily.
I've had the sticky fuel gauge for a year or so. Tankful after tankful of Chevron with Techron didn't fix it. Finally put in a small bottle. 'Bout 3/4 of a tank left. We'll see if it works. I know it might take 2.

About 8 years ago I was having float problems in my '99. Read on the FORUM that Shell, Texaco and Chevron have Techron adds in their fuel. Been using it ever since, 145k miles and not 1 issue with the float.
