Help...Key FOB Woes
Key FOBS are 10 years old. Stopped working so I replaced the batteries Saturday. Now I have to resync (push lock and unlock for 15 secs) almost everytime to get the unlock buttom to work? Sometimes it just locks itself? Any ideas, anybody else with these issues?

Try this:
Programming Transmitters
1. Turn the ignition to ON.
2. Turn the radio to OFF.
3. Press the RESET button in order to clear any IPC warning messages.
4. Press and release the OPTIONS button on the DIC to scroll through the display options until the IPC display is blank.
5. Press and hold the RESET button for 3 seconds.
6. Press the OPTIONS button until FOB TRAINING message is displayed.
7. Press the RESET button in order to begin the programming sequence. The message HOLD LK + UNLK 1ST FOB will be displayed.
8. Simultaneously press and hold the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the first transmitter for 15 seconds. The IPC will indicate when that transmitter is programmed and when to proceed to the next. Repeat this procedure for each additional transmitter or press the OPTIONS button to exit.

Thanks Mark. I've done that several times. It works fine for awhile then I need to resync to get it to work. Seem like it's loosing the memory overnight or when I'm at work.
Any chance it's the Red Top going away?

I would think you would be having other problems as well if it was the car battery dying. I know it sounds improbable that two FOB's would die at the same time but I have run into it twice here on the forum. You can try this :

or buy a new one from Gene Culley at gmpartshouse.com.
If you can find a friend with a '97-'00 that will let you borrow his FOB that would eliminate the FOB as the problem.

Both mine were broke when I purchased my 97. The symptoms were just like yours, sync then an hour later it would not function anymore.
My solution was to take it apart, clean the board with alcohol and q-tips. Then I soldered the contacts from the black chip that sits on the green board. This solved everything and both my remotes work perfect all the time. Hairline cracks or bad initial solder are what cause these issues.
I know I'm not describing this the best but if you do a search there are some pics that show how the remote opens up, its every simple and takes 10 min to fix this. While I like supporting the forum vendors, I'd say attempt a fix first, you have nothing to lose.

My thoughts are the FOB is going bad - I had this happen when I had my '00 and a new FOB solved all the problems you mentioned.
