Default Mixed emotions thread....

well, fixed my problems with the car, picked up tons of hp.

was out on a barren strip racing a yamaha r6. right around 160mph i hit a bump and active handling kicked in, pulling the car to one side, i corrected and it kicked in again making the car go 90degree sideway at round 150mph. i controlled it as best i could but before i could swing it back around from 90 sideways it went off road at around 140mph, the rubber band tires on the 10/20" cray manta wheels held up quite nice with only one loosing a bead, but the wheels were digging 2in deep ruts into the ground, went down the side of a hill and through a ditch.

the wheels seem UNHARMED!! the wheel faces were filled with damp dirt from digging into the ground, but none of them broke.

these things are strong!!!

as for the vette... a pole took care of the passenger front fender, bumper, hood, and radiator. the ditch took care of the curb bars under front bumper along with air injection pump and who knows what else.

i can attest that these wheels are bullet proof. i knew that even from the past when i hit this huuuuuuge pot hole at 70mph. popped the tire, and took a chunk from the lip of the wheel but still straight and true.

never fear the crays!

(edit) the car is slammed and has slightly more rake then factory. so i believe the active handling is thrown off. i have been having problems with the active handling kicking in and disabling cruise control when i hit a small bump while taking a curve in the road lately since the full drop.

IBTL, sorry about your story bro. On the active handling, the sensor on the wheels is either dirty/loose/or needs replaced, or you have a bad ground.

Sorry to hear about you problem, but let me be the first to say, that 170 mph a public road, be it a barren road or not, was not a wise move. Glad you are ok the car can be fixed.
