I recently installed a cold air intake (dual cones) and this morning got my predator tuner and want to share with you what i think of these two mods (if they can even be called mods)
WORTHLESS JUNK!!!! NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL, WASTE OF MONEY and TIME, all the anticipation, got my hopes up...... oh well.
Now I start doubting that even a ca back with x pipe will make any difference. Are there any chip mods that can make a difference????
So upset that almost want to keep it stock.

First off in my opinion the tunes you get from the hand helds are worthless, If you want to really feel a difference you need to have a custom tune done by someone like Chuck at CoW, Well worth the money spent.
Sorry you are not happy with the unit you got. Each mod make a little difference, If you really want to feel something get a Turbonator.

What did you think was going to happen? Most of these "Mods" add little HP. The difference in sound makes many people THINK they are doing something.
For most normal driving around many of the bolt on mods do very little (CAI, cat back, coolant bypass, yadda, yadda, yadda). Keep your money and save for REAL upgrades like Forced Induction.

you won't see any gain from the dual cone and according to Doug and Randy at DRM(doug rippie motorsports) the dual cone causes turbulance in the intake and causes issues with tuning. i would go with a Honker or Vararam if i were you. Honker will show more on the dyno but the Vararam will have a good seat of the pants feel once speeds increase. Don't go with a handheld. Get a real tuner program and learn how to tune or bring it to the pro's

Did you think you were installing a blower??
I have proof that the diablo sport worked on my car. Went to the track before and after. The results were damn good for a handheld. Maybe you should send everything back and just keep your car stock. Most mods are not "miracle workers" but rather small improvements you can make to the car's performance. If you are looking for big improvements, put a nitrous system, cam/heads, or blower in.
You can get more power from bolt on mods. Get a Vararam. It will not show more power on the dyno but you will feel more going down the road, as it does not really do anything until you are going 40 or more MPH. Long tube headers will also add power. An exhaust system will not add any power. It just makes it sound louder and therefore you trick yourself into thinking it is faster. Maybe a different intake manifold and a larger throttle body will help. Then get a dyno tune from a good shop. The above are not cheap. If you want more than they will give you it is time to go with different heads and cam. Or you can just get a supercharger and twin turbos and be done with it. But you will then need to address the clutch or auto trans, differential, suspension and brakes so you can get the most out of your new power. How much do you want to spend???? How badly do you want more power????
I know You aren't happy but face it the dual cone dose look better than the stock air box and for the hand held tunner you can make some ajustments that will benefit you like electric fans coming on sooner and other thinks to make it run more efficient so it's not a total loss. You just expected to much the thing is nasty fast already you could be driving a rice burner (a golf cart with doors) chipper up look out on your drive way and say dammm CORVETTE now that what i'm talking about

I learned a few years back with my C4's that a number of these mods don't do a thing for performance, especially when it comes to air intake systems. You really are not going to see (feel) a big difference over what you started with.
If you were really looking for HP and a track performer, start with a Z06.
If you can get to Corvettes of Westchester, see Chuck COW, the owner. His tunes are known world-wide and you will feel like you're driving a completely different car. He's in Ossining, NY in Westchester County...well worth the trip.
Good luck.
Jeff
Ur sucking in hot air with those crappy dual cones look where they sit what did you expect?. Surprised u didn't loose any hp. And a hand held tuner? Might as well took a big dump on your money and flushed it down the toilet. Speak with the guys at ecs( east coast superchargers) check out the big tuning thread and special they have going.
Sorry for your disappointment but that raises a question of what did you expect from these mods? The type of mods you mentioned will not give you any great seat of the pants difference, rather they are great support mods for more serious built engines. Hand held tuner is a great way to help and tweak some systems but again it is in support of other things and will not generate miracles. If your car is a stick you will not feel any difference in the way it drives. At the track you might be able to shave a tenth or so but that will not be felt on a street. Changing rear axle ratio with what you already have might be the perfect solution for what you are after and the handheld will prove valuable for this mod. Sorry to say but you just learned an expensive lesson about reading into hype, real HP costs a lot of $$$ especially on a Vette. Good luck on your pursuit of power and maybe you will find some way to make these work for you little better down the road.
