Hi everyone. I bought my first C5 back in march and wanted to run a couple of questions by you guys.

1- I just noticed that there is a scratch on the driver's window that I am guessing was caused by the power window mechanics. Has anyone else seen this and if so what did you do?

2- Washing today, I found that the black plastic insert inside the front driver's side air duct (between the door and the front wheel) is not tight and flaps when touched. It seems extremely hard to get to this from under the hood to see why it is loose. Has anyone else encountered this?

Thanks!
-Lou

1 - Yes, there is a problem with the rollers. They get dirty and can scratch the windows. Not sure what you can do about it other than changing them and or the window if its scratched deep enough to bother you.

2- That "flap" inside the cove is supposed to move. Now I dont know how loose you are speaking about, but I can push it in easily on my car.

All problems you state are normal. Scratches on window are due to window being used with dirt trapped on weather stripping and it scratches glass, not much can be done about that. Just normal wear and tear as just about anything scratches glass. The loose plastic inside cove area is normal as a Corvette engine sucks cool air from the ground and it passes thru engine compartment and exits thru the side cove's, the plastic you see is just there to complete the area...otherwise it would look unfinished. No worries, go out and have fun. Greetings, Rob

Thanks much guys, your responses are much appreciated.

These things do not bother me, just making sure they are normal. The flap on the drivers side is far far looser then that of the passenger side (which hardly moves at all), so I thought I would ask...

Have a good one!

Ok, went downstairs and checked

Yup, normal The drivers side moves a bit more, the pass side is probably mounted the same but probably hits the PCM (or is it the BCM?) anyway there is a computer compartment on that side, pretty sure thats what its bumping up against.

If you ever decide to get a mail order tune, you will be removing that box and can see for yourself what its bumping up against in there.

Enjoy

My drivers side cove flap was loose as well. I installed RaseMesh grilles and either side is loose now and it looks 1000 times better.

If the plastic flap seems excessively loose, it is held on by two screws that are accessed by taking the rear lower fender well lining off and reaching up inside the fender.
