Yes, so much Red and not enough lifetime. But I am certainly enjoying and appreciating all things Red in my life.

Thanks Texas

Just curious, since my z06 interior is normal black, is it possible to get it painted to this mod red and if so, how much will it cost?

another question about mod int......

has anyone been able to come up with a exact breakdown of how many mod interior cars were built in each car color for each specific year?

I have seen general numbers on the net but not exact counts? has any one asked Chev about it?

Peace, B.

MJ, I have sprayed paint and coating for nearly 30 years. (for a living).

In years past I recall a material Mar-Hyde that used to be used from time to time on interior items that never suffered alot of wear and tear. A small section of door panel, a dash trim piece.

You asked about painting seats... Painting is 95 percent if not more "prep work". Prepping a surface/substrate for integrity of the applied material/coatings intended purpose and to help both preserve and beautify the item being finished. It has to stick, it has to last.

I have never in my almost 30 years of painting ever tried to paint a leather substrate. Let alone a seat. To prep a seat out for a lasting finish with integrity to stand the abuse, I could not imagine. In other words could you get the contaminates off of the leather to get the coating to stick.

OEM seats already get punished and have a tough time holding there sharp vividness. They crease and wrinkle...

This is all in my own humble opinion, perhaps you could contact AJB in this thread and buy his mod red seats?

Perhaps seat covers in the mod color that you prefer would be a better option?

If you find out any information how how you COULD do this with lasting integrity, please let me know. I am never to old to learn.

Just don't move through haste. Take your time. Always time to do it twice, never enough time to do it right the first time?

William

You have to go by RPO Codes. Don't remember what mod-red was off the top of my head.

Code is 70I, I cant click and paste all the stats they have that feature blocked.

out of the 8,297 cars built in '02, they say 1,563 cars recieved the Mod Interior they say that it's 19% of production......but no breakdown of what color cars recieved what.

not that big a deal I guess we all know its pretty rare it would just be nice to respond with a accurate number when someone asks about the interior in the car, being a numbers geek at times I like to know these things.

Peace, B

tossing the Mod Red interior in favor of a custom black leather interior. Going with some C6 seats and few other upgrades.

Mod Red looks good on the black and red cars but I'm not crazy about it on white. I think the black/oak combo would look good though with the white exterior.
the mod just doesn't work with white. Solid TR is a different story. If I end up with mod red, the first mod to the mod will be red floors like Texan Avatar above. If I end up w/blk interior in the Z I'll contact you for an exchange if you still got the mod by then. C6 will be more comfy and will look better I agree. Stock side bolsters wear out quickly on C6 seats so watch for that.

I've seen aftermarket seats with mod reversed and it looks good.

Spray dye leather??
