Default Mod Interior

I have asked this question a few times, as part of other questions and never got an answer.

I KNOW their are those that know! Why is it called 'mod interior' ?

I am like Quick Silvers cousin, I love Red for a couple good reasons.

It's called Mod Red, not Mod Interior.

It means that it has the two-tone Black/Red interior combination.

Mod Red, got it. Kinda like 'Arrest me Red', 'Ticket me Red' 'Red as Hell', just 'Mod Red'
Thanks

AJG, I too have the 'mod red' interior in my TR Z06. I just wondered if there was more behind the name or term that I thought was being used throughout the CF.

AJG, in the world of acronyms, and texting... I'm a bit behind the curve. Just wasn't sure if there was a bit more to it.

Thank you!

Hey but AJG, I noticed sometype of clear protector you have over the rocker/threshold.
Is that your own ingenuity, or something sold in the after market world.

I have some red to protect too... Interesting.

Hey William,

You can buy them from Ecklers or Mid-America.

I tossed them and the Mod Red interior in favor of a custom black leather interior. Going with some C6 seats and few other upgrades.

Mod Red looks good on the black and red cars but I'm not crazy about it on white. I think the black/oak combo would look good though with the white exterior.

Man, Mod Red looks great on white I think. I was always under the assumption that "Mod Red" interior stood for "Modified Red" interior. Just the stock interior....Modified with...Red . I'm probably wrong, though.

It's just a slang used on the forum. My sticker said two-tone interior option.

My SW Z06 was one of the first SW Z06's made. It was produced in July of 2000.

You tossed them? You got rid of them? Okay, whatever floats your boat (or Vette) I was a spray painter for nearly 30 years. Cars, mainly aviation - fixed wing- and rotor. I can see how you may have felt there was a strong contrast with your white exterior.

None the less, to one Vette brotha' from a different motha"

Just be smart and be safe.

But if my girl can't keep them heels off my thresholds- I may have her take them off! Can't live with uhm, can't live without uhm! I love her though!

Just buy some clear protectors for the door sills.

Actually, I'm selling the mod red interior to help pay for the new black one.

Luckily for me my wife hates riding in my vette because I accelerate too fast for her.

AJG I noticed in you profile area- Noritton, PA... That wouldn't be Norristown would it?
I lived in West Chester, PA for a while painting helicopters for Keystone Helicopters.
PA is a pretty state. I just never knew it got as hot and as muggy there.

Be safe!

Hey William,

West Norriton is part of the greater Norristown area in PA. So you were out by the Airport of of route 95 ?

You're right by the Delaware River over there and yes the Southern PA area is very humid and muggy in the summer time. Like a big wet blanket some days.

Oh one more thing. I was really on the fence between a SW (a guy was selling in CA, it was beautiful), or the TR w/Mod interior which I pondered for nearly 3 years. In truth I could have gone either way and slept well at night. But ya know, they all look GOOD!

But I did learn through the forum and a few other ads, the SW is a bit more rare?
I haven't seen many thats for sure. Enjoy!

Tony, I actually lived in Downingtown, near Exton, but worked in Westchester. I left before Keystone Helicopters got things going around Coatsville. (I think it's Coatsville)
I can't recall if it was route 95. What I do recall is my girlfriend sending me an article of mail. It was a digital image of my 4Runner's tailgate, clear as could be, wanting payment for my going through a toll area without paying (I had Washington St tags)(PA. sent the ticket home) I was in the wrong lane, it was like an express lane through the toll, I knew I was in the wrong lane but couldn't get over.
Any way I paid. I still have that crystal clear pic too.

I don't miss needing and ashtray full of quarters.

PA is pretty. I liked it.

Hi William,

I know where Coatsville is and it's off route 30. My Dad worked over at the VA Hospital for many years, before that he taught at the University of Pennsylvania.

Exton area is not too far away and is a quaint area, however it has changed (grown) a lot over the years.

Sounds like the NJ gardenstate parkway or a bridge tollway.

Tony, now route 30 is ringing bells. I don't know man, just seemed like every exit I got off on was a toll.

Good to meet ya Tony, just felt compelled to share my 1REDZED. Tony, I just got it 4 weeks ago. I have much to learn-hence- the question about "mod red interior"
