Default Header Primary Tube size Question

I have an older set of headers on my car. They're TPIS Lt's. I also have Random Tech hi flow cats and an X pipe. The primary size of my headers is 1 3/4" I was think ing of getting a new set or a slightly used set. Should I go up to 1 7/8" primaries? I just put a Torquer V2 cam in it and dynod 411/380. Im thinking I should be able to improve my torque with the 1 7/8". Would this be wise or should I just leave well enough alone?

I don't think it's worth the time and expense. If you go with Heads and a Fast 90/90 or go FI, then it may have some merit.

Unless you are doing more mods like heads, compression or forced induction, the 1 3/4" is ideal for what you have. Going larger might actually kill low end torque because the larger tubes would slow down exhaust flow without further mods. You need to keep the exhaust flow speed up. Besides even if it would provide any increase, the performance difference wouldn't be enough to justify the expense and effort.

for about the same amount of money a fast 92/92 and dyno tune will give you more bang for your buck then 1 7/8 headers, at this time.
