I have borla stingers as well. They seem to be loud enough to let people know your not stock.

They get quite over time. I usually have to spray little water from garden hose in mufflers to make them sound new.

Need some info with these pics and videos of the dual 4" stingers. Some look like they have a pipe inside the tip like in these pics.

http://www.borla.com/products/prod_w...rge/tip_37.jpg

http://www.nelsonresidence.com/vehic...rlainstall.htm

Then i see videos where it looks like that isn't the case, like these.

Is it that im just not seeing it because how far away or the angle and light that is present? Or are there different tips available for the duals?

Out of everyone who has the Stingers, who has installed the x-pipe? Is there really any sound difference with having it, or performance difference? I was just thinking of installing just the catback.

I've had the Borla Quad Stingers on my car since it had 1700 miles on it and I absolutely love the way they sound, especially at WOT. You can really scare people to death with that.

What are some trustworthy websites where i can buy the Stingers and know that i am getting a good deal while having a good experience at the same time. I want to have good memories from day one whenever i look at or hear the exhaust, not be reminded of a headache that i had to go through just to get them in my possession.

I bought mine on eBay from www.corvettemike.com and everything went perfectly from purchase to the time I fired it up to hear them! I felt eBay gave me some leverage through their feedback in case something went wrong.

I have Borla Stingers and a Magnaflow x pipe, which is imho a true x pipe and it balances out the sound. Instead of sounding like a motor boat it has a more uniform, equalized sound from the exhaust. I would definately recommend some brand of x pipe but perfer the Magnaflow. Good luck!

I have Stingers (2 tip) and a Borla x-pipe and love them. You know it's not stock as soon as you turn the key. Low deep rumble at idle is great! I have no info on with or w/o the x-pipe as I followed advice from CF members and did both at once.

I would agree with all the above having an 02 convertible with Stingers. The only comment I would add is that I would not want it any louder, and would guess the others are louder.

Other than an air intake, i don't have any other mods done on it. I don't race in it, just like to cruise. With just stock headers and everything else stock, its still gonna have that deep rumble at idle and scream when i get on it, like i'm wanting it to?

here is a sound clip of mine. i had the camera too close, but you can still here it's deep bass rumble. I just came back from AC this weekend. Had the wife in the car, and i gave it some gas..she had to cover her ears! It does get very loud. I have LG streets header setup. I personally love it!

i have the 2 tip stingers on my stock vette. nothing done other than a k&n filter. no drone at any rpm. everyone loves the way it sounds. i think it sounds a little like a boat at idle. its a deep throaty gurgle. and everyone knows your there when you open it up. it is kinda loud if your directly behind it but not to bad anywhere else. sounds even better on a stickshift car.

Tommy, did you put the x-pipe on with it or did you just put the stingers on?

From what i read, the XR-1 tips are 4 1/2", but some sites say they are 4", not sure which one is correct. I have a 2004 Convertible, its not a daily driver, mainly take it out 2 times a week or so, looking for that deep rumble at startup and idle and a mean sound when i lay into it. I heard alot about resonance, now thats like an annoying vibrating noise at certain RPM's in the interior mainly when the top is up? I rarely go out in it if i can't have the top down. Any info on these 2 systems is greatly appreciated.
Borla. hands down.

A problem i am running into with my decision to get these. I have seen 2 different tips on the dual stingers. The tip i want, the one without the "double wall" inside the tip, is not the one that is most common according to Borlas website. They gave me 2 websites to check, one is going to get back with me tomorrow, the other said the "phantom tip", the name of the tip i want which doesn't have the double wall, is what is listed in the catalog so that is what i will be receiving. Just because the catalog says "phantom tip" doesn't mean thats what Borla sent them, since the guy i talked to at Borla said the "double wall" are the more common tip used. I just don't want to get it to my house and open the box and it not be the one i wanted. They fall under the same part number, so its just a crap shoot on what tip you get. I just wish a dealer was close by so i could know what i have before i leave the store.
