Default Battery Date?

Where on an AC Delco battery can I find the production date. Mine has a label on the top that says 10440925. Could that be a date code.

I have a AC Delco 75/60 and about 1/2 an inche below the type/battery lenght

Look for 5 numbers and letters something like S116P

'S' stands for the plant where it was made, next there''ll be two digits = 01 or 12 those two numbers are the month it was made. Next is a single or multiple digits and that stands for the year in which it was made. And the last letter is simple a manufactureing letter code.

My Battery has S116P = Means it was made in Alabama and it was built on Nov. 2006 & M

ps: I could be wrong on the first letter and to which place it was made, US State or else where, but the first letter stands for the plant location, their all over so I'm not positive of the exact state. but it will be a letter.

I hadn't had the car out in three weeks, but had a float hooked to it. Day before yesterday I unlocked the car, opened the door and the interior light didn't come on. Turned the key and nothing, not even a click. The extension cord had come loose enough to stop the charge....it was barely hanging in the socket. The battery is the original one, so I was told. That makes it at least 6 years old. A long charge, about 6-7 hours brought it back up and I started it twice today with no problem.

I'm wondering if it had been replaced some time back.

The car production was Dec. 2003,

You can find an expert at one of the Batteryforum.com by I'm going to say the battery was made in September 2002.

Thanks for your help I appreciate it very much. If Sept. 2002, that will be 8 years on a 6 year battery come next Sept.
