I've been considering the Hankook V12 but I was worried about how well they would perform. I'm looking for a good all around tire that if I wanna drive my car on vacation I can or if I wanna get in it and go do a auto cross I can.
I took vert into Chev dealership for a warranty repair early this week (faulty seals causing a hydraulic oil leak out the front of the transmission). Dealership cut some bolts off holding the exhaust in place. Replacement bolts showing in inventory were not there, so I'm facing a 4 day wait.
I thought this would be a good time to get rid of my OEM runflats. Vert is already on the rack (btw I made, & took w/ me hockey type lifting pucks - DIY from CF), the rear wheels are already off, so I've got Tire Rack drop shipping a set of Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 into the dealership tomorrow (short shipping distance from South Bend to Lafayette for those of you not familiar with the Hoosier State).
I'm looking forward to a quiet ride & w/o the vibration of the worn out OEMs. Only problem is - I never got the chance to burn off 1 last 32nd from the rears - doubt I would have anyway - o-well.
I hope they can put the balance weights on the inside of the barrel instead of clamping on the edges.
Visa got hit for $609.03 plus I'll get a $50 rebate. From this form, I got the Car and Driver Link plus all the positive comments on these tires...Thanks CF Ladies & Gents for great posting info!

I am alittle concerned about wear. I have seen some really good reviews and a few really bad reviews of these tires wearing out in 4000 miles or in some cases less. The other tire I am looking at is the kumho spt. Any thoughts on these? thanks guys
I just ordered a set of Bridgestone Potenza 760 sports from Tire Rack.
Like most of us, i just plain got sick of the noise. I've read some good reviews on the 760's, so we'll see. I bought a plug kit, jack, and a small compressor....
The Goodyear Eagle run-flats (with 11,000 miles) will be for sale after the Potenzas are installed.
Just got a set of Hankooks last month and the difference in ride and noise was night and day compared to the rfs, not sure about performance/wear as they only have a few hundred miles on them..easy on the wallet too.
I just put Toyo T1R's on my 03 Z06, and they are wonderful! Very nice smooth quiet ride...
I've had these on my 02 coupe in Z06 sizes for two years; very happy with them. It was like having a new car after the runflats. We get lots of rain here in Vancouver - I find them to be reasonably sticky and good in the rain.
The tread life seems pretty good and I have auto-crossed them a few times; they're not sticky like a DOT race tire, but they are predictable, probably comparable to most other ultra high performance summer tires. I paid $1,100 for 265 fronts and 295 rears.

Reason: addition
I have a set of BFG Super Sports, it's an all-season tire, very smooth and quiet, fine performace for me. Not a sexy tread pattern like the BFG KDW which are summer tires which I like as well. The BFG KDW are one of the oldest tires out there but still higly rated at the top of many lists. Both are made in USA as are some Michelins which are also
thought of highly. Good luck on your search.

I just replaced my Kumhos ASX with the BFG, and it rides a ton nicer. The BFG seem to float a bit, but the Kumhos rattled my teeth. The BFG also seem to be stickier when I hit second gear, less spin. The original runflats were the worst, the kumos were better, and now the BFG seem to be the best. I think all 4 BFG tires were under 800 bucks mounted and warranty at Sams clubs, so they were cheaper than the kumhos after the mounting etc.

I had the kumho ASX, and the front tires lasted 25000 miles, but the rears only lasted about half of that. I has 2 front sets, and 4 rear sets in 50000 miles. It is rare that I spin the rear tires, and I don't race, so that was "normal" wear. Initially I am very please with my new BFG tires, so I am saying thumbs down to the kumhos based on 50000 miles of personal experience. The demands of the tires make them expensive, and wear a bit fast, but my personal goal is at least 25000 miles for a DD.
