I would like to know if anyone has used this company? It is called custom wheels market out in California. I can purchase (4) c6 zr1 crome wheels for 749.00 shipped . 1,400 with tires. I have a 2000 convertible, They said I can remove my tpms and put them on the new rims. Any help would be great. Thanks again as always
My advice when it come to aftermarket wheels. The less you pay the less you get. If you can't afford a quality set of wheels wait until you can. If you buy cheap you will get crap,,,heavy, out of round or poorly machined, bad chrome or impossible to balance. A word to the wise is usually sufficient!
There really aren't too many wheels in the mid-price range between $1000-3200. You really have to spend $3800-4000 for a set of USA made quality wheels. For many of us, that's prohibitive. Depending on size, they can also add unsprung weight and there's no sure thing, I've seen many pics of bent high price wheels after hitting a pot hole.
Everything else, is sure to be a China wheel and the quality is all over the place, usuallly based on price. If you go a little higher in price, close to $1000 a set, you can usually get a good wheel that's made to accept your old sensors. I went with WCC, got a set of chrome C6 Z06 Motorsports, made by Factory Reproductions. Offset fit was perfect, all wheels balanced fine, sensors fit fine and the chrome finish is like new 1 year later with no upkeep.
Get the style and finish you like but pay some attention to what factory is making the wheel. Whatever size or finish you get, switch to non-runflat tires to save any additional weight, it's a big improvement in cost, ride and performance. Just carry a portable air
compressor and a AAA card and you'll be all set.
