Dont let the incompetance of one particular shop spook you about modding your car. Modding is fun and worth the effort. You should invest in a decent set of hand tools and a set of factory manuals then try to do some work yourself. Its all just finding out information before you start any project. The internet is a valuable tool when doing work on the car. I used my laptop on my bench like it was a shop manual. In fact, I dont own a shop manual. Everything I need to know is on line someplace.
I cant believe Mike move his business up north. He was the best tuner in south Florida.
Yes Mike did my cam install and then my Maggie install, he also did the cam install on my girlfriends car...great guy...great tuner. Indy is lucky to have him.
I've had some bad luck too, even with good/reputable shops. What will make a difference is how the shop tries to make things right. It sucks to have a broken performance car...
Exactly.... I am supposed to call then next week to work out a date to tow it there......would have been nice for them to offer to pick up that tab. Anywho....if the car gets put back together and the oil leak stops from where ever it is comming from, then I won't be too upset.
Mike has not been up here long, but I have read NOTHING but very positive reviews(and results) from friends who have gotten tuned or parts installed. Worth the drive to get it done right.

I just want to clarify that I am not unhappy with the shop just yet. I know stuff can happen when you are modding so I can't be too upset. When I got the car home it ran really strong. It made great power. I will be upset if they don't take care of this problem being that I only had the car back for two weeks before I had the problem.
That is why I didn't list the shops name. Because I am not for sure that it is their fault. It could be a matter of bad luck. The shop does have a really good reputation and the owner has been nothing but nice to me. I originally started this thread just to vent. I am just frusterated that I haven't been able to enjoy the car after having it back running the way it was.
It only cost 80 bucks to file a lawsuit against them and although you will probably never get paid it will put a nice judgement out there and make their lives hard when it comes to getting credit plus it accrues interest. In Texas its 10k or less for claims. Very easy to do.
I've done several cam swaps in my car and I'm no pro, just a backyard hack. If the balancer bolt came loose it's because they didn't torque it correctly or didn't use loctite with less than the torque spec.
