Some people, especially people who make a living selling aftermarket parts such as headers, will knock this product.....all I can say is that it's money well spent and if your changing the whole exhaust system anyway just throw a new insulated tunnel plate under there....holes are already drilled for 02 sensors. I throw my invitation out...if you are considering this mod and live in the DFW are and want to see hear and ride in a vehicle equipped with OBX just pm me cuz I will save you on the Corvette tax!
obx headers, great bang for the buck, I didn't want to bother cutting the tunnel plate so, I simply installed the headers marked were the o2 sensors would hit and used my floor jack, a long 1/2" extension and 22mm socket to dent the tunnel plate, took less than 5 minutes a side.
I dont know what that means. It was not a tune that i order it was all done by Don AKA Slowhhawk. He knows everything about an LS1 moter and how to make them better.
What do you guys mean by tune? is it something we can do or does it have to be done on dyno? I looking into installing obx headers and cats.
There are a LOT of pages on here about long tube headers in general and OBX in particular. Now would be a good time to read through all of them before buying and installing the headers. The factory engine monitor sensors can adjust fuel table values to a limited degree and will try to adjust injector flow and timing to satisfy the engine demands that the new headers introduce. You'll also see that most of those who installed headers had a shop that has the correct equipment manually adjust the fuel management program, along with some other data tables to get maximum benefit from the header add-on. OBX with a proper engine control module tuning can add 20 - 30 hp to your car.
