Default OBX catback??

http://www.doubledmods.com/OBX-C5-CA...UST-OBXCAT.htm

I know people have been posting good feedback in regards to their headers. They look similar to stingers/bullets...anybody have any experience with this exhaust. Looks like a great price.

OBX is simply a Chinese knockoff manufacturer that builds copies of well known aftermarket exhaust components and various other aftermarket parts. The workmanship is usually pretty good but not as good as the original. I just wouldn't feel comfortable installing an OBX catback system on a C5 since their exhausts usually sound very hollow and ricey. I have never heard the C5 version but I have heard several OBX catbacks for other cars and they sounded awfull. They did look good however.

They sound just like the Stingers. They woint be available agin for a little while as I expalined to them they needed to tweak the fitment on the passenger side as it was off. They as in OBX are always wanting to correct any issues and do care about the products they produce. Once the next shipment comes in I will make everyone aware as I am the first to know for anything Corvette related.

Just wait till the new OBX superchargersd come out. These will be a nice adddition to the product line and not carry as big of price tage as well

If you need any more info on these call me

Thanks

Dennis

Any other feedback on these? IF they sound just like stingers, I'm definitely game to get a a pair. But, only if they sound like stingers. I don't want anything that sounds kind of crappy. Their headers look pretty damn good, I'm just hoping that their catback is similar by comparison.

Well, might not be much help, but I have their headers / x-pipe and they sound epic! They fit fine, and the install went smooth!

I pretty much have the same setup. I first just started with the nxt step/granatelli/obx catback. It sounded pretty much identical to borla stingers. My buddy had the stingers, and we had someone rev the cars next to eachother to see how they compared. I actually think my catback has better tips than the stingers. Here is a clip of just the catback. Nice and deep, no drone.

Idle/Rev

On the street

Added SSAC/OBX headers with an offroad x-pipe. Very loud, drone at 2500rpm but the car never has to be there. Take off then 120+mph fly-by

Thanks for the feedback and the vids.

As far as sound goes, it seems like you think they sound like the stingers...which I like, and for a great price. As far as quality goes, do you think they are of the same quality?

I mean, if I can get the same sound and quality, $450 or so is a good price for a catback.

Yes, the quality is good. Some people complain about the clamps in the kit, but I haven't had any problems with mine. I have had the catback on for about 2 years now and no problems whatsoever.

Would you say it's pretty much identical in sound in comparison to the stingers?

What about these? http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...on-teaser.html

I'm still undecided what I want to do with the tips. That old JW won't be on there. My new logo might.

I've been running them with OBX headers since August last year I believe to test the quality. I ran them through rain and all. They still clean up like new.

They are loud. I had stingers before and they sound pretty much just like them. They look a little different than the stingers though. Another company is using these as their own as well. I won't say who.

I'm going to order up more once I get back from my mini vacation.
