Well I need some help here. It is the wife or the car. My wife has called my car "the rust bucket for a while now. She found out today that it is made of fiberglass, so that blew that argument. She is now calling my car a barbie car, because barbie has a corvette. Was it this tough for all of you to get your better half to like your car.
Not for me it wasnt, but whats the real condition of your car? Does it need some cosmetic work or what? The other things you have to consider is how long you been married? Could cost you alot of money...........but barbie car, tell her to take that back or else!!!!!!!!
Wife loves the car. Only thing she hates is that I won't let her drive it except for around the block and that UPS is always delivering presents for the car and not her.
My wife is not a car person so she's indifferent to the vette. A car is just a car to her but she respects the fact that it's much more than a car to me. She'll go with me but will let out quite a squeal if I get too aggressive with my driving so I'm usually pretty cautious.

My awesome aussie wife didn't know much about vettes except that I had been wanting one for the past 10 years. In fact, it was the first "window shopping" we did when she came to the states 10 years ago. We barely had enough money for a cup of coffee, and we were in the dealership looking at a 2000 Millenium Yellow vert! Needless to say, it was a fun day dreamin' !
Fast forward to this month. Prior to us finally buying our White 2002 C5, she did quite a bit of research on the Corvette, and developed a much greater appreciation for the car...and the legacy.
Now she loves it...maybe not the same way I do ...but she does say that it looks awesome coming down the street. And she sure does enjoy the ride!
What does it matter? As long as you like your ride, why sweat the ragging. It seems like some wives like them, some don't and others care less. My wife thinks I go overboard, but she is cool with it. Enjoy your ride.
Sorry to bust your bubble, but you are 100% wrong here. We have a great marriage. Just over 4 years, and a 4 month old daughter. It is kinda like how I don't understand her need to continue to buy shoes. I guess we both need a little help.
Some women just couldn't care less about cars. No biggie.. It would be like her talking to you about her makeup brands and how it's all applied .. who cares right.
