Hi. New here. I'm picking up a 2000 sebring silver 6 speed today, and I'm very excited. The only thing that sucks is it has some kind of aftermarket craptastic stereo installed.
Will any stock delco stereo of the same vintage fit? I notice most chevy's from the late 90's to early 00's use the same stereo as the Vette..and are a lot cheaper to get. In a few ebay pics comparing both, I saw that the pin connectors look the same on one side, but a little different on the other. Is this OK? Is there an adapter? I'll also need the pigtail connectors from somewhere.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
I had always wondered about this myself. There are Head units in other Chevy's that look identical from the front. I'm sure they won't fit though, because someone would have figured it out. The rear connectors must be different. The Corvette CD unit is P/N 09390211
To each their own!! In my FRC,,I actually like the stock Bose!! I DO like my tunes,,but I'm NOT a bass blaster or crank it till your ears are on the verge of bleeding,,,and for me it seems to have pretty good sound. Have and aftermarket Kenwood,,nice,,ok,,but it DRIVES ME NUTS!! 400 different functions crammed into 3 tiny buttons and 2 *****. You have to be a techno geek to figure it out!! Going to get the CD fixed in my stock unit and put it back in!!! I don't need 2000 watts!! I too have read here that connectors are different on the vette units!!
I pulled the entire Bose system out of the wife's C5 and brought it into the 21st century. Love it. Now I need to do mine.
That is nice looking no doubt, but cash is an issue and I do like the stock look. The one in there now is definitely crap. Its a single din unit straight out of 1996. I'd much rather have a stock Bose.
So no definite answer on the other/same chevy radios fitting?
Not sure about other AC Delcos working in the C5. There are often stock head units, both CD and cassette versions, for sale here in the for-sale section. I just sold the wife's entire system to someone here about 3 months ago and have seen many for sale since.
Here's the nearly-stock interior of mine. I have the cassette version with a 12-disc CD changer in back - all factory.

I guess I'll check out the for sale section. It just bugs me to pay 100 bucks or more for a stereo that sells for 40 bucks when its not from a Vette.

Not sure if there are many differences between the C5 Bose unit and those from other Chevys. But if it were me I would just find one from another C5 - that way you know it is compatible.

Corvette CD unit is P/N 09390211. I tried to fix a Corvette CD unit with a non-Corvette head unit CD assembly, but found it was not interchangeable.
