Yep, I do the same - especialy after a new body mod, a double take is great and of course taking up the two spaces at a diagonal way out there where no one else wants to walk to (hopefully)
Maybe it's just because my vette is still new to me, but every time I park and go into places, I find myself looking back numerous times to admire my baby from a distance as I'm walking in! I just cannot get enough of the car! I don't think it will ever wear off. How about you guys?
Have had my C5 for five months now. ALWAYS look back at it after I'm parked and walking away from it. Because I wish I were still sitting in it.

That's a good way to invite vandalism .....even though there is nobody else wanting to park that far out....a sure way to draw the hater's ire is to park like that.....As a cop, Ive seen it many times
My advice is to park afar, but take up only one space...
Funny you say that because I always do the look back and one night taking the wife out for dinner, I parked the vert and proceeded to do the mandatory look back. Just when I did, a very attractive, young lady in a skirt and pumps was walking towards her car. The wife thought I was checking her out and for the first the 30 minutes of our dinner, I was explaining the Corvette look back in detail. A few years later and I think she finally believes me!

I could not agree more. Whenever I see someone doing that I think the same thing... asking for someone to rub a key against it.
Let's face it, the C5 has the same kind of appeal as a sexy girlfriend. You just can't stop looking at those wonderful curves and bumps.

You know, the other day when I was waxing my car, I actually found myself massaging the soft curves of my C5 and telling my buddy that was with me "These cars are like fine women. Smooth, sexy, and makin the other girls jealous"
I stare at mine from my balcony everyday I get home and I intentionally park next to other vettes to compare and it makes the lookback even better when you get to look at more than 1.
HEY HEY HEY!!! I did the stare back this evening when I went to the mall. I found a great spot to myself next to the horizontal handicap spot after a great sunny day, coming back from my nieces college graduation. Ever since this thread got started, Im more appreciative of the "stare back".
