Remote Transmitter Problem
I'm having a weird problem with my remote. It began when my remote became unsynced...so I synced it by using the standard remedy (holding lock/unlock), but I noticed the remote started acting funny...it began to unlock my car without being touched. I don't utilize the passive function, so that shouldn't be an issue. Also, the sync only lasted a day. So I repeated the sync sequence, but it continues to unsync. I replaced the battery, still no fix. I opened the remote and inspected the board and contacts, but everything looks good. Any ideas?

As a new C5 owner I was reading in the manual a procedure to sync remotes. Might check it out before you buy another one. I have to get another key and fob.

Most likely it is the fob gone bad. I had that happen on my '00. Once I replaced the fob, everything worked as it should.

Thanks for the replies...yeah, I've tried the official sync procedures multiple times, so I'm pretty much convinced it's a bad fob. I've already sent TSTAR an email (thanks corvettedaddy11)...I'll post any progress.

Turn the PASSIVE switch to "OFF", otherwise it will lock when you get far enough away and UNLOCK when you get close to the Vette -
Most of us hate this function and switch it to off, 00-04 did not come with this option on the remote
