Default DVD/Nav Unit

Hey guys I'm looking to purchase and install a single Din DVD/Nav unit in my vette. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations on which units to considered and reviews on installation difficulty, etc. I would prefer to get one that the installation will go most smoothly on and all. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have sold a few dozen of the Kenwood KVT516 NAV combo over the last couple weeks. Kenwood is a personal favorite of mine as it has Garmin based NAV and so nice and easy to use.

You will need a C5 install kit along with an roem-vet1 and gm6 antenna adapter as well.

Kenwood KVT 516 and KnaG610 combo on sale 879.99

Kenwood KVT516, KNA G610, PAC Roem-vet1, GM6, C5 install kit 959.99

I do have Pioneer available as well should you want that option.

here is some pics form forum member RJRSW's car who recently bought this setup.

I fitted a Pioneer AVIC system

The models have changed over the years but I think the last model of this type was the N3 (now discontinued) but you can still pick them up on E Bay. It's not state of the art audio but it's a good all round compromise and will work with the stock speakers. The unit has a hook up for an Ipod and has integral sat nav. Pioneer make a single DIN unit but I forget the model number.

Check out Post #18 on this thread. I posted a "How To" install an AVIC system. It's reasonably complex but doable for a DIY. The latest consensus is that the VSS wire is not needed and that's by far the hardest bit.

C5 Bears Fan is without a doubt the expert here if you decide to go Double DIN and produces some really nice installations.

The radio alone with no nav will fall under that for the Kenwood KVT516

if you want to stay in 600 range your looking at this option

Pioneer u310BT 399.99
send me your bezel to modify with install kit 259.99
659.99 and you have a double din setup.
Your not going to find a decent flip out new for 600.00 with nav. Maybe if you search used you might.
