Default Opinion on these wheels...

Photoshopped in a set of American Racing chrome Torque Thrust wheels onto my '99 coupe. I've always liked these wheels, and wondered what they would like like in place of my chrome wagon wheels....

..now i'm not exactly sure the size would appear as in this photo, but I'm thinking it doesn't look too bad. I tried this on another forum with the non-chromed version and not many people liked them on this model 'vette, and I pretty much agreed. But, in chrome, I'm thinking....hmmmmm... what say you?

Remind me of the Keystone Mags I had on my 68 Charger. I like the wheels, but see them more on a C3. But if you like them, then go for it.

I don't see the Cragar look like the others who chimed in other than the basic spoke design,,, the wheels you chopped look more detailed than the old Cragar's. I like the look for your car from what I saw!

Gotta lower her though!

Looks like crap. Those are almost exactly like the Torque Thrust wheels that came standard on late model Mustang GT's for years and years.

They don't look right on a Corvette at all.

They're different, that's for sure. I like the chrome part, just not so much the style.

Get some chrome Z06 replica wheels instead.

EVERYBODY does the Z06's,,to me THEY are kind of passe!! Maybe I'm old school,,but I think they look good!!! Not everybody wants the same old Z06's,CCW's and so on. They are out there,,long ago I posted a question about this subject,,and got pics of an EB coupe that had some very much like them,,,and it looked great and got many POSITIVE posts. Guess a different crowd is on line tonight!! If you can afford it,,I say go for it!! There ARE different drummers out there to march to!!!

do they even sell those in corvette offset?

does not flow well with the vette at all. Craigers are more for muscle cars.

The torque thrusts looked good on the F-body's, but not so much on the corvettes.

At one point years ago I thought about the American wheels too. Someone had them on a C5 in one of the Vette magazines. They looked good, but I just couldn't pull the trigger. They just didn't look right somehow. I had Craigers on my 76 vette and thought they looked great in those days. Some of the old guys might remember 67 Supremes. I put them on my 70 vette and I think they look good. But, everyone has different opinions and different tastes. Seems like alot of people are going for the C6 wheels and the black wheels nowadays. They don't do much for me. But, if I make a change on my car I do it because I like it. I really don't worry if someone else likes it or not. The attached picture is the 70 Vette, but don't think I would put them on my C5.
