hey guys so i came outside of work on friday after a long day at work. Put the key in the ignition and started her up. "pull key and wait 10 seconds" i was like hmmmm thats strange. Did that then the dreaded service column lock came up and i wanted to smash my face into my dash! Did all the little tricks that people try with the fuses and what not. So now im waiting for my CLB to come in the mail before i can drive her again. What a crappy day. Plus i keep seeing vettes all weekend and wish i was in mine. bew bew bew also i looked and relized it had the dealership recall done on it. Good old gm and there puting a band aid over a compound fracture!
Sorry to hear that.... it happened to me about 3 times and I kept putting it off. Then one day last years I was at the beach about 80 miles from home and came out went to start the car and nothing..... that was the last straw. Once I got the car started and got it home the next day I went to a Vette place here and had it put on. I just didn't want to take the risk anymore. I was like many people for a while... "AHHHHH I'll get around to it" but being that far from home I didn't want to deal with that again. So far so good....
From the pic in your profile the car is either a FRC or a Z so it has a manual trans installed. That may make a difference in installing the CLB. Go to this link and read through post #2 for info on that:
