Took CF advice and ordered my wheels from Jim at the Tire Rack. Were delieverd in 1 day, I got the sport muscle chrome ZR . Jim is a great guy to deal with and would with no hesitation call him again. IF you are thinking about tires and wheels I highly recommend him and the company. Price was great wheels are fantastic.
How does their weight compare with your OEM wheels? When I look at wheels, the weight is the second thing I look at after the wheel design. If it's heavier than what I have, I move on. Then again, I am picky about unsprung weight.
Good to hear. I've always had good customer service from the Tire Rack.
I agree, Tire Rack is always one of the first places I look. I actually just ordered some tires for my new rims yesterday and they will be here tomorrow..

Im wouldn't worry for those concerned about "weight" of the rim. A couple of pounds extra won't affect your cars performance overall. It's also pointless in a sense to worry about rim weight unless you drag or road course your car, but in those cases a lot of guys run a second set of rims to do the job. If your going to try and loose pounds for performance it only makes sense to loose it everywhere, not just your rims. You only loose a couple of pounds on the rims anyways...not much.
Actually, the weight difference can be significant, especially if you swap out the runflats for non-runflats AND reduce wheel weight. You can reduce the weight of each corner by 15 lbs. That's something you can feel in acceleration, braking, and ride quality.
Forged wheels are generally lots lighter than cast but then again, you pay for all that lightness.

True enough, but my point was if someone is more of a "cruising" type and not so much of the "track" type then this shouldn't really be a deal breaker...then again I'm just giving my humble opinion.
Tire Rack is super! Ordered some Kumho's for the CX-7 and got them in a few days, delivered to my installer. I avoided TX sales tax that way, and the tires were ready for installation when we were with the car. Great service and prices. Will definitely go with them when it's time for new skins for the 'Vette.

Not just tires but brake pads a well. They guided me to choose the right ones. Today I have twice as much brake power than with original ones!!! That is cool espeially on the track!!! Thought there is more dust on the rim but who cares...

TireRack recommended me Hoosier. That is awesome on track. Thought it looses its grip guite quick without a notice... But who cares, it is FUN!!! :smas h:

I'm the cruising type but did notice quite a big difference when I put on c6 z06 replicas on my 2001. I now keep my select ride suspension on sport to compensate for the extra wheel weight over bumps etc. Love the look of the wheels though and have gotten used to the different ride quality.

Same with me. I bought RUFF 279's chrome that were already heavy, and had them powder coated which added more weight. I did notice a slight difference, but my look is unique. If I want to compensate I'll just need to add more horsepower
