Optima Yellow top, deep cycle HD battery.
If your Corvette is sitting for long periods, would suggest/recommend a trickle charger/cycle charger - C-TEK is what I use.
Second the motion on the C-Tek (very smart charger) and using a Sears Die hard Platinum. That Delco Professional is a great battery as is the Optima Yellow Top, cant really go wrong with any of them .

But if you use a battery tender, you could go with the Optima Red Top. I have used the Red Top in my last two cars - no problem with battery one in approximately 7 years and none in the current car in two years.
Optima Yellow-Top. Of course, the best resolve (as mentioned already) lies less with the battery and more with proper maintenance. Grab yourself a CTEK 3300.

I never let the Corvette sit for more than two weeks without the float charger on it. Red Top's don't tolerate being drained down to nothing and then recharged. But with a C-tek or other float charger they last quite well.

I installed an Optima red Top last year and it's been great. As mentioned if your car hibernates for the winter or you don't drive it regularly, invest in a trickle charger.... I just use a cheap Battery Butler (around $15), which has lasted me 3 years so far....
