Something not right here, They put a value of 33K and totaled it because repairs were 5K.
Just sounds strange to me. They would rather give you 33K than spend 5K to fix.
Well right now they gave me a rental, (pos chevy HHR). I'm starting to feel down. I've already driven by 3 vettes and i couldn't wave...haha.
I hope if they do total it they better give me a good price. Its a near mint 03 with all the options except z51 with only 38k miles. And i've put some mods on it (nothing crazy).
Heres a vette that looks similar but my still had more damage on the end.

Damages were around 10K... Front clip was pushed 3" to the passenger side. I think they figured its frame was too tweaked to fix. Still would have only been about 10K to fix, but they would have had to salvage it anyway.

Unless you have receipts for the mods, they won't take care of them.
What ever the first offer is, say no. I know it's hard to hold out a while, but trust me it'll be worth it. They wanted to give me $27K for my 02Z with 30K miles on it. It was in mint condition as well. But I held out and they gave me $33K for it. I bought an even nicer lower miles 03 Z.
I know the feeling, though. I was driving my POS 300zx for over 4 months incredibly depressed that I didn't have my Corvette. It was very hard to handle.
Its sad to say but heres what happened. So I was on my home last night and was at a stop light. Light turned green i proceeded straight and a lady tries to make a left hand turn in front of me, and BAM. 100% her fault, because i had the right of way.
?
It's not 100% her fault. Driving means always on the look out for others. If you count on "your right of way" what happened to you will happen all the time.

Sure, but right before i saw it coming i hit the breaks and turned the wheel left to try and advoid it. But it was too late she was already coming at me.

You guys with modified Vettes need to keep your insurance agents up to date with the mods on your car or they will not cover them. I'm getting ready to create "video evidence" of all the mods on my cars so they can't try to argue later on. They don't have to cover them though unless you notify them first.
As for price, different agencies will total for different reasons, most of the time frame damage is the culprit for a total. Some agencies like Geico will still repair a frame as long as the frame bend was at less than a 90 degree angle (at least this used to be their policy), while others will total it out if there is any frame damage at all. I'm pretty sure state farm would total me out if there was frame damage at all. From the looks of the car it is probably totaled.
My family has only had one vehicle totaled by State Farm, but they gave us way more than they should have, so arguing a higher price may "bite him" depending on the number they come back with. You may not want them to research the value too much if the number is on the high side. Really they are only required to replace the vehicle with like kind, and that doesn't necessarily mean they will factor in things like a rare color or option into their "estimate".

I wish we had more retarted insurance companies like that.
To the OP, it doesnt look like a total. I do however see a nice opportunity for free upgrades
Interesting... They put my 02 Z's value at 33K. The damage was about 10K worth and they totaled it.
May also depend on the nature of the damage. Extensive frame damage and it might not depend on the cost but more of the ability to have the car repaired and be roadworthy again. All insurance companies work a little different.
From your pictures it looks like the PCM and engine wiring was damaged too.
Looks like it's over for you. It's only repairable by someone who has the knowledge and time to drop out the motor and install a new wiring harness, etc ....
