The cowl is bigger and more squared than the maggie hoods. I wasn't sure I liked it at first, but it does follow the lines of the stock hood, just a slightly bloated version.

I have actually grown to like it, and I now like the look of the cowl from inside the car.

I originally had my shop (CMS) use the supplied KB tune. I had slightly more HP than I have now, but my tuner (Ryne Cunningham) thought it was a little aggressive and could lead to detonation in the San Diego heat without meth injection. I trust Ryne and had him dyno tune it. It runs great and I have had no problems

I would suggest getting a competent tuner to give you a custom tune after your install, or before the boost gets into your blood...

I found on my Z06 ('04) that the supplied KB pulley had me at 9.5 psi. That was more than I wanted on the stock bottom, so I got the bigger pulley which put me at 7.5 psi.

Good Luck with whatever system you choose..... they all will put a permanent smile on your face.......

I was looking at the kennebell website and noticed they include the hood : COMPLETE KIT INCLUDES COOL AIR SYSTEM, HOOD (HOOD SHIPPED SEPARATELY FROM R.K. SPORT), BOOST-A-PUMP, 38LB INJECTORS,
FLASH TUNER (KENNE BELL CALIBRATED), 76-93MM INLET, PRE-ASSEMBLED AND READY TO BOLT ON. Based on what i'm seeing this is teh hood they supplied (very nice btw). Was the installation straight forward? Was the flash tune enough with the 7.5 psi setup? Thanks for any insight you may have...

I really like your car

I have a few questions if you don't mind.. 1 - How many miles have you put on your car? 2 - Have you upgraded any parts of the drivetrain (half shafts, trans, clutch, etc)? 3 - How much have your mods totalled so far? I know everyone (including me) hates the last one, but I often find when I see the bottom dollar price, I suddenly get much more careful with my mod plans

Thanks!

i kinda like the hood everytime i see it. Is it about a 2in -2 1/2 ? I am looking for about 530 -550 hp on stock motor. I dont wanna tear into the motor for a while and figure a superchager is not as invasive as say a cam and heads plus i will after getting use to the hp put a blower cam and port the heads later

I had my tuner install the kit from KB, including the tune. It was putting out 9.5 psi, 515HP/500TQ @ 6100rpm, the kit injectors were at 105% at 6100rpm, and that's when my tuner suggested changes.

This is a total guess on my part, but the kit was designed for 7.5psi. I think because of the higher compression on the Z06s, the basic kit pulley caused the higher psi, maxing out the injectors and the unsafe base tune. I suspect on a non-Z06, the base kit/tune may be spot on.

Ryne upgraded to 60lb injectors, I got a bigger pulley from KB, and had Ryne dyno tune my set-up. I'm now at 510HP/ 455TQ/ and 11.5 AFR. It runs good and strong..

To purchase my kit (TPE),have my kit installed & tuned (CMS), have the included hood mounted/painted/paint blended into the fenders (Elite Auto), a new DeWitt's radiator, and an installed pillar pod with boost & fuel pressure gauges--- I spent almost exactly $10,000 out the door.

Since then, I've added the DeWitt's C5 fan upgrade (plug & play Spal fan kit) but that was more of a want versus a need.

I am running all OEM running gear, including the clutch. I don't anticipate any problems on the street with street tires. Once I start drag racing with sticky tires, I'll need clutch, brace & output shafts at minimum.

Right now my Vette is a weekend fun-ride. I have 33,000 miles and installed the supercharger 18 months ago at 22,000 miles.

It wasn't cheap, but I love the results...................!!!

Hope that answers most questions.
