Default traction control

If I drive with the Traction control on the second setting( allowing more wheel spin) will I get more acceleration???

As long as your tires have traction your acceleration will be the same in all modes.

The second setting is with traction control totally off. You may or may not get more acceleration depending on how hard you spin the wheels.

nailed it. Doesn't matter if the car has traction control on, off, or is in sport mode (or whatever it's called). The only thing sport and t/c off let you do is get a bit more wheel spin. Fun if you enjoy drifting.

So the traction control on these does not slow the car down or retard timing like on the F-bodys?

With everything on, the traction control system allows a pretty good amount of wheel sping in 1st gear before it decides to step in. Any more spin than that would probably just roast the tires. The traction control really steps in by 2nd gear though.
