I think most will agree the MGW is the best. It takes some effort to shift but it is rifle bolt precise. You should never miss a gear with this set up. Also the gates are very short and close. If you can go to a car show and ask to check out a few shifters there. I have tried Kirban,C6Z and have settled on the MGW. All were better than the stock C5Z shfiter that came with the car.
I was always a fan of B&M, but after reading hundreds of posts on this site, I decided to give the MGW a shot. Mine is still a bit stiff, but man are the throws short. And got2have1's right: this thing is precise.
The kit also came with EVERYTHING you need to do the install as well as a CD with instructions. I haven't tried any of the other shifters, but now I don't feel the need to. Love this one.
I put the RSD Snap Shifter in 03 Z...I am very happy with it although I have not tried anything else to compare it to......I felt like I was shifting a truck with the stock one.
c6 shifters look great, need a cheap kit with just rod and **** since rest is same. by the way I really like my B&M, kinda stiff but otherwise no rattle, missed shifts etc. good luck on your choice

the reason why im looking is the other day i was messing with another vette on back twistie roads and more than a few times i missed shifts. i did get the better of him with my 03 supercharged zo6 but i really hated the missed shifts.
FWIW. I've owned the C6Z, Hurst, and MGW shifters. I like the latest MGW best, but the Hurst seems to have the most potential. The Hurst is the only one with tunable springs, (preload or change to alternate spring), and shift stops. Just too much internal drag makes it feel comparatively numb. Freeing it up would be perfect, but I was too lazy to take it apart. For me, the C6Z shifter ('07), was OK, but not what I was looking for. Adding an MAM handle to the MGW, (a little longer/taller), improved even it more. Perfect combo for me.
