Default PICS from under. Need advice.

Im looking into buying this Z06. It has 16,000miles on it. Its had 3 owners. I had the dealer put it on a lift and take some pictures. Im new to these cars, and this would be my first vette. Are the scrapes from under the car normal, or should I be cautious about this Z?

Those bumpers all get beat up,Worry more about the looks of the front and rear control arms rear trans/rear end cradle etc. From these pics it doesn't look to bad. Don't forget the CARFAX, it looks like a black one which is what I have and those bumpers look like mine did when I bought it and overall I have had zero problems to date showing 29500. Just don't pull these cars too far forward and be careful parking against curbs.
Good Luck 4ltrfred

The Corvette is a low car and stuff like that is going to happen. As long as there is no damage to the oil pan or something youre good.

Looks exactly like mine. nothing to worry about... look under any vette with 10K+ miles and you will likely see the exact same thing.

When I bought my car, my skid bars look about the same as those although by bumper was perfect. I just bought these at a local Corvette show and so far I love 'em.

Common.

Those are low speed encounters with parking curbs.

I've seen thousands of C5's come though the shop for prep/repairs before sale and that is on the vast majority of cars that aren't garage queens. (and people here like to insult garage queens as having issues )

Low mileage: wouldn't worry about it as long as everything else is in excellent shape. What year is it?

Mine looks like that, not an issue at all.

I second the thoughts of imavettegirl though, lot of owners for those few miles.

Plan on tires! Mine (stock GY Supercars) were pretty much shot after 17,000 miles (when I got my Z). Carfax won't tell you sh#t if front end collision was not reported to insurance, so look inside open hood to paint on bumper frame. Inspect for any mismatched fasteners on fenders.

If you have a friend at a Chevy Dealer you can have them run the V.I.N. and give you a list of all warranty repairs ever done and existing warranty end dates (if any still exist).

I would not be overly concerned about the # of owners in this case. You can toss out 1 owner more than likely who fell into this category: It is VERY common for somone to buy one of these bad azz Zs (or any vette) and then get buyers remorse or hell from a spouse who was not entirely on board or a divorce, loss of a job and bada bing bada boom ---FOR SALE!

Overall, the first and probably 2nd (and 3rd) owners did not daily drive it anyway.

OP, if all checks out with service records, carfax, and your and a professional inspection--go for it. Get a col. lock bypass soon after. Good luck.

If you get this Zo6 put some Fangs on those skid bars right away so they won't get any worse.
