I was wondering if anyone new how much current a C5 draws shut off. My battery is dying in about 2 days. I am pulling about .44 amps. Is this normal, or might I have a short somewhere. I just don't want to have to start pulling fuses if this is normal.

NOT normal. Draw when the BCM goes into sleep mode should be about 20 Ma.
Thanks guys. Went to the post, followed the steps, and found the draw to be only .02 amps. I didn't know to wait for the car to shut down. Guess I will finally have a reason to get the Optima battery.
how old is your battery? sounds like its time for a new one. just make sure you haven't left anything plugged in. anything else you've modified that could be drawing power?
many members here might caution you about optima batteries. they used to be good but have since moved their production to less desirable areas. I had 3 of them in a row die before their time. one of them actually started generating a great deal of heat when charged. I took it out right away, but it could have been dangerous. this was on another car. I have a yellow top in my C5 which has been great for over 3 years, but its hit or miss sometimes. I think that one was manufactured right before they moved their factory.
something else you might want to consider, odyssey. I've heard a lot of good things about them and did some research the last time I needed to buy a battery. ended up going with a die hard platinum in that car. which is an odyssey battery. exact same product except for the name on it and the color of the plastic case. so far it has performed extremely well. just something to think about!
