I was going to have the tire pressure sensors taken out of my tires and send them off to have the batteries replaced but my tire shop says it's against federal law to take them out. Have you ever heard of that? What does a brand new tire sensor cost? I guess I should say against the law to take them out unless they have new ones to put in.
How come the ones for 97-2000 cost over $100? Probably no chance the newer and cheaper ones could be trained for my 97 is their?
No, they cannot be trained to your 97. Different relay box for 97-99, that's why TPMS and key fobs are more expensive. You can change your car over to the 2000 and up style. Costs about as much as a set of sensors do for your 97, when you factor in the relay box, 4 sensors, and 2 new fobs. Unless you can find one from a donor car.
Should you be interested in new, please contact me directly and I'll be happy to help you out. We will be happy to meet or beat any other GM Dealer claims.
