Tire pressure sensor ?

Tire pressure sensor ?
I was going to have the tire pressure sensors taken out of my tires and send them off to have the batteries replaced but my tire shop says it's against federal law to take them out. Have you ever heard of that? What does a brand new tire sensor cost? I guess I should say against the law to take them out unless they have new ones to put in.

i just got new ones for my '03 for less that $200 for 4. if you have a 2000 or older i think that they are ~$100 apiece. check www.gmpartshouse.com

I don't know if it is against federal law or not to remove the TPS from your wheels, but I'd find another tire shop too.
