I purchased mine "used" from Corvettes of Houston on September 9 of 2000 with 104 miles.

I just turned 6000 miles last weekend. I know not many miles, but when I'm in it I push it. I have changed the oil 3 time with no noticible loss between changes.

Buy it, drive it, fill it up if it is low :smash:

My 2001 is number 4932, built in August I believe. I have 12,000 miles on it, have changed the oil twice, and never added a drop.

I believe it happens like GM says, mostly to drivers that like to keep their revs up unnecessarily. Remember the owner’s manual allows running as low an RPM as 900. These engines are big V8s and the throttle is not connected to the engine, but to the computer. The computer is not going to allow much “lugging.”

But if you insist on driving it like a Lotus Elan or Honda 2000S, you’ll probably burn oil.
