I'm 51, so at my age, they are the best exhaust for me. Very low droning inside (very important later on believe me), louder than stock, even louder when you open her up. Very neighbor friendly (another important aspect). I've been in vettes with loud exhaust, you will hate the drone, can't hear the music, can't hear the wife (well that is one good thing I think)..... Go to vette clubs and listen to other vettes, and ONLY VETTES, not from other vehicles because C5 has a different fireing order, so idle is a little lumpy if you didn't know why, this is why... Good luck....

A few years ago a friend of mine ordered some and paid a good penny. They were slightly louder than stock thus the only state I would use them in is Virginia. They were not meant to be on a vette, and if you think you are gonna get performance and sound good luck throwing your money out the door. There are too many other companies like corsca, b&b, assannie, slp, borla just to mention a few that are making quality . My friend still has the flow masters ,,,,,in his garage in the orginial packing collecting dust, even he admits, flowmasters were a waste of time, money. rICHARD

Thanks for all the responses. I definitely got a lot more information now to think about before I go and spend $600 to $1100 on a new exhaust. I might get lucky and find a good used set.

When I bought my car it had straight pipes. Turns a lot of heads, turns on a lot of sirens, and deafens you on the highway. I installed a set of flowmaster 80s and couldn't be happier. I was pondering installing cutouts for those "want to be loud" moments, but the flowmasters sound good without drawing too much attention and highway driving is enjoyable again.

I just put the Flow Master mufflers on my C5 2 weeks ago, they are exactly what I was looking for. I got them from Summit, the price was reasonable compared to the other over priced cat backs. The sound is a very nice low rumble at idle, sounds good at mid range no drone and you can hear the exhaust but still hear music as well as conversation.
