I noticed Flowmaster also has an exhaust setup for the C5, is this something new and does anybody have it installed in their car? I have one in my truck and it has a nice old school rumble to it. Any opinions on how the sound compares to Borla, Corsa etc... I'm not looking for something really loud but I do like to hear it when I get on it. I think the B&B's might be too much.

I'm interested as well. If you check on youtube you'll find some vids posted with guys who are running flowmaster. I prefer to hear the impression of them from a forum member if possible.
I have had just about every exhaust you can put on a C5. The Flowmasters will definately change your exhaust note from stock, and they are qiute cheap in price compared to others. They are just not as well received on the C5 as Borla, Corsa, and so forth. I think they are sure decent for the money.
I've heard the flowmasters on Dick Guldstrand's 427 C5....amazing sound thats deep, 7/10 on loudness, and has that "old school" sound famous of chambered mufflers,,,but the tips are fugly
Personally, I have quad tip B&B Bullets,,,,10/10 on loudness and tips are thee niiceeest big tips you can find for a corvette
Sound like a MUSTANG to me, go with B&B bullets :P Had them on most of my C5's and now my C6 and I wont look back, you can pick up a like new used set for around $375-$400 * thats what I paid now 2 times for 2 different cars *
I have them (about three years now) and I like them
They are nice at idle and around town, not too loud but louder than stock. Dont mind them on the highway either (again louder than stock but we can talk on the cell....hear the music...etc). WOT is "a lot" louder than stock.
I dont think Id want a "louder" exhaust all the time. I might like the Flowmasters with an electric cutout system added on for those few and far between times when I might want to really lets the dogs bark.

THEN you would HATE B&B LOL Im running no cats and B&B Bullets and they scream but at WOT there is nothing like it in the world!!!

B&B bullets are pretty loud...from what I heard on youtube (80 series) sounded almost exotic. It had it's own unique flavor, but again, it would be nice if someone can give a product review and provide detail on fitment, model, and sound
While flowmasters sound good, they really aren't know for making good power. I have them on my Mustang, but wouldn't mind replacing them to pick up some power with something a little straighter flowing.

I've had them on my Vette before and I really liked them. Great sound and no drone at all - nice and agressive at WOT
I heard they were making some in Polished Stainless Steel for the C5's too, I believe Flowmaster has made Polished Stainless Steel for the C6's already.

I don't believe there is any gain/loss with any catback. Until you change/remove cats and/or LT headers, mufflers only give you sound.

I'm just saying in general. Flowmaster style mufflers tend to be more of a restriction over more straight thru style ones. On a semi stock car the wouldn't be a restriction until much more power was made.
I've had a set for several years and really like them. About half the cost of the more popular systems and sound great. Not overly loud but aggressive at WOT. I doubt you'll be disappointed.
I had them as well.... Tone was nice, mine had the double D tip. Just never really suited my eyes. I have B&B now with the quad tips. Its all about your personal preference.
My car had Flowmasters when I bought it. I must admit, since changing, I miss the low end rumble at idle and they sounded very nice at higher RPM's without being overly-loud or droning.
Sound-wise, I would recommend them.
Otherwise...hmmmm....maybe not. Mine had the "double-D" tips with no curled edge so you couldn't see them hardly. So I actually bought some same style tips with a curled edge and it was an improvement.
I learned to like them but not too many people cared for them. Then I started hearing strange banging and clanging noises on corners and when hitting bumps. Turned out it was the dang baffles were coming loose inside the mufflers!! It only got worse, so I switched out and got rid of them.
But I did like the sound. And...they weren't copies. When we cut them outta there, they were stamped on the top side.."Flowmaster".
Lately Flowmaster has made garbage products. I used to have dual 40 series on my C4 and it sounded fantastic, but now-a-days they sound too raspy and tinny.
