Default Miscellaneous electronics problems

hey guys i've been experiencing a few problems on my C5..one of them is the cd changer seems to no longer work..just the other day i hit aux and it went to look for discs then said err..i tried that a few times and the next day when i hit aux it wont even switch over to the CD changer just stays on the radio..but i can still hear the changer shuffle and it ejects and seems to work just fine?...second of all the rear view mirror map lights both went out at the same time..and finally the keyless entry was working intermittetly and then it just quit working period..is this a dead battery in the key or is it something on the actual vehicle?

How old is your battery? My keyless entry was giving me fits and so was the seat memory. I replaced the battery in both key fobs and installed an Optima Redtop in just before reprogramming both Keyfobs. I am not sure which of the above fixed it, but I no longer have the issue.

If you disconnect the battery with a CD cartridge in the changer, you will have to eject and reinstall the cartridge for the radio to recognize it, or at least I have to in my 1999 Coupe.

Could be battery but how about pulling the codes and post them. Codes will tell the real story.

I'm selling an Alpine 6 CD changer that worked perfectly in my Coupe for $60 = $15 shipping, if you're interested.

Thanks all...the battery is about a year old so I don't think thats it but I was told a few things to take a look at which I will do and get back to you.
It was all so strange just came out of nowhere. I'm just hoping it's something simple.

I was having all sorts of intermitent electrical gremlins in my 03 Z06....someone pointed me to the two plug style grounding points in the engine bay...if they get corroded inside, it can play havoc with the whole system. I opended both of them to find a good amount of sand and some minor corrosion had accumulated in both plugs. After a solid cleaning and some light sanding with a metal file, I filled the connectors with some dyelectric grease and put them back together. All told, about 15 minutes of work and all my electrical problems were gone. Might be worth looking into! Good luck!

Also, don't forget about the connections in the rubber boots that go to each door. Go to the important electrical issues sticky on the C5 Tech page. Tons of great info in there about electrical issues and suggested fixes.
