I know my 2000 ls1 is limited to 6000 RPM. I am putting in an LS6 block with a GT2-3 cam, hardened pushrods, comp springs, and 1.8 rockers. I should be able to bump up to 6500, right. Is there any other hardware that limits the top rev?

You can rev up to 7k on stock rods, bolts, pistons and connecting rods if you want.
Your cam will determine where you will shift. If you stop making power at 6300 rpm no point shifting at 6700 rpm. You should change the connecting rod bolts out while the engine is out to either Katech or ARP
Mine is set at 6800 my cam starts to slop at 6500 I shift at 6500 and have a 300 rpm buffer so i dont bounce off the rev limiter
