Check out this thread -

Someone has a nice write up about what to look for on the C5's. Maybe they'll chime in with a link.

Default New to C5 my experience..

I traded in my 1994 C4 for 2004 C5 in mid May of 2010. I am still familiarizing myself with the C5 too. So far I noticed the heat temperature control for the drivers side has a burnt out LED light. The LCD lights are so dim I can not read them. Not sure if the heater or A/C work properly. Seems to work sometimes. Is probably going to need the whole controller replaced. The power leads going to the rear window defroster are both hanging loose and need to soldered back to the window grid. The dual memory works sometimes. I had a burnt out right rear side marker light. The front end alignment was corrected by the dealer prior to me seeing the car. However the front tires are worn unevenly. The headlights need aiming. The quality is much better on the C5. I could probably write a book on problems I had with my C4 compared to the few the items i have discovered on the C5 so far. Better and quieter ride overall better quality. I missed some things about the C4 but I really love C5 much more. I am sure you will notice a difference too. Enjoy the journey. This forum is full of great information.

Good luck in finding a really nice C5. They are out there - just be patient and look them over carefully. I've got a bunch of Word files that might help you out - including a Corvette Buyer's Checklist. If you'd like a copy, PM me your e-mail address.
