Default New? GPS mounting solution

I ran across just the GPS mount I have been looking for on ebay and it only cost $6.

See what you think

The mount is three pieces, plate, ball, and the adjustment nut. The garmin plate is not included.

Seems fine in my coupe

So far I have only used it with my painted top, haven't tried the clear top yet.

I plan to put another identical mount on my clear top.

I will route my Garmin power cable up the passenger pillar and along/under the vinyl trip at the top of the windshield. Should work fine.

I put mine in the vents, much nicer! it's in your line of site you don't have to look up, if your GPS falls on you while your driving it could be bad!?

To each their own.
I have used the vent mounting, but I do not want my vents blocked and in the roof position I use it is just a glance up past the rear view mirror.
Besides I rarely find myself looking at the GPS as much as listening to it's direction. Everyone has their own preference and at present I like this position in my C5.

Hope it works out for you.
I suggest you leave the GPS off the freshly stuck mount for a day to let the adhesive set up well. Also suggest you try the GPS in battery mode before you wire it in to make sure it receives well and you like it in that location.

Yesterday I tested my wife's Garmin nuvi 650 as well. This model has the flip up antenna in the back. It fit fine and worked fine over a day trip.
